Course Information

Persian is a major language of West Asia and is closely related to Marathi, making it easier to learn. Even though Persian is considered a foreign language, it belongs to the same language family as Indian languages, which has led to significant linguistic exchange over time.

Persian is not only important for historians but also holds great relevance for India today. Iran is one of India’s key crude oil suppliers, and at the same time, India plays a crucial role in Iran’s infrastructure development. The economic, trade, social, and cultural ties between the two nations make them strong partners.

This course offers a unique opportunity to learn Persian, the language of this significant country.
